It's been a long journey to finally really enjoy what I do for work....if you can call it work. Growing up in Miami, I was lucky enough to always have a dog...back then it was German Shepherds...my dad's dog of choice. And, poodles for my mom's choice. But even with our dogs, I was always catching iguanas and bringing them home. One grew to 6ft...ended up donating it to the Seaquarium. Had him for years and brought him with me everywhere. At that time I also had a horse named "Pandora". You could usually find me at one of the Florida rodeos where I would compete in barrell racing.
But even at the young age of 5, I was comfortable with the camera and photography ... only I was the one in front of the camera. In 1962, I won Little Miss Universe.
From that moment forward, I did a huge amount of modeling. In fact, because of the fact my dad taught me to scuba dive at age 6, I was actually an stuntgirl in an Ivan Tors movie called "Island of the Lost". I did the underwater dive scenes for the little girl in the movie. I had to actually swim with and be towed by "Drip" the sea lion in the movie. Rico Browning and Luke Halpin (from Flipper) were also in the movie. I was 11 at the time.
I went on to do lots and lots of TV commercials such as M&Ms, International Banks of Miami, Pet Milk, Oscar Meyer ...etc.
Had the pleasure of performing on stage at the Coconut Grove Theater in three productions...Eloise, The Littlest Angel and Peter and the Wolf.
Here's a print ad from the McDonald's commercial I did.
Now I have to brag on my dad, Jack Crevalle who in 1957 broke the world's record for staying underwater 28 hours and 53 minutes without surfacing. Here's a YouTube of the event:
Jumping ahead, I went on to own several of my own businesses. But I have to say as much as I enjoyed owning my other businesses, I have never had so much fun as what I am having now. I fused a creative graphics hobby and a camera hobby along with my love of animals into what I am doing today. I only hope I can work with you and turn what I enjoy doing, into a portrait of your pet that you will treasure forever.
